Comparison of Spatio-Temporal Variability of Daily Maximum Flows in Cold-Season (Winter and Spring) in Southern Quebec (Canada)

Quebec has experienced a significant decrease in the amount of snow and an increase temperature during cold season. The objective this study is to analyze impacts these climate changes on spatio-temporal variability daily maximum flows generated by snowmelt winter spring using several statistical tests correlation (spatial variability) long-term trend (temporal variability). based analysis measured 17 watersheds (1930–2019) grouped into three hydroclimatic regions. Regarding spatial variability, revealed that winter, are positively correlated with agricultural area temperature. In spring, drainage density snowfall but negatively wetlands As for temporal (long-term trend), application eight generalized due early snowmelt. despite decreased cover, no negative was observed rainfall, which compensates snowfall. This evolution does not correspond predictions models. These predict magnitude floods southern Quebec.
